Mississippi State Baseball Player and SEC Player of the Year Brent Rooker was projected by many to either be drafted in the second round of the MLB Draft or late in the first round. On Monday night, he became the 14th Mississippi State Baseball Player to be selected in the first round of the MLB Draft.

Rooker was selected 35th overall in the supplemental portuon of the first round.
