Blog – MSU’s Rea finalists for Ferris Trophy

Mississippi State’s Wes Rea is one of five finalists for the C Spire Ferris Trophy, which is given to the most outstanding college baseball player in Mississippi.

The Ferris Trophy, named for Mississippi baseball legend Boo Ferris, will be awarded May 18 at a luncheon at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum.

With three games remaining, the senior first baseman has hit .308 with five home runs and 35 runs batted in.

Joining Rea are Southern Miss pitcher James McMahon, Jackson State senior infielder Melvin Rodriguez, Millsaps senior pitcher/infielder Keith Shumaker and Ole Miss senior pitcher Scott Weathersby.
