Former Mississippi State Bulldog Martha Alwal may not have heard her name called during the Women’s National Basketball Association, but that doesn’t mean she is done with basketball.
The Commercial Dispatch reported Monday that Alwal signed a training camp contract with the Atlanta Dream.
The Worthington, Minn., native felt good about her chances going into the draft, but she wasn’t one of the 36 players selected and she had to regroup.
Playing for the Bulldogs and the Southeastern Conference helped prepare the center to get to where she is today.
“Being able to prove myself will help me prepare for the WNBA or overseas, wherever I end up,” Alwal said the night before the draft two weeks ago.
