Mississippi State football’s defensive coaching staff is whole again. After defensive line coach David Turner left the Bulldogs to take a job at Texas A&M last week, a source confirmed to the Starkville Daily News on Monday that longtime NFL coach Brian Baker will fill Turner’s old role.
The news was first reported by Mississippi State’s Scout.com affiliate.
Baker, whose hire is expected to be officially announced by MSU later this week, has three decades worth of coaching experience. After playing collegiately as a linebacker for Maryland from 1980-83, Baker began his coaching career as a student assistant for Maryland in 1984.
