After strong start, MSU blown out by LSU

Starkville Daily News

Mississippi State quarterback Garrett Shrader took a snap from the shotgun formation midway through the second quarter on Saturday afternoon against No. 2 LSU. He grabbed the football, bobbed and weaved and rushed 12 yards, diving into the end zone for the touchdown. It pulled the Bulldogs within two points of the mighty Tigers. The fans in Davis Wade Stadium exploded. The cowbells clanged with vigor. There was hope – hope for an upset that would shake up the national college football landscape and shoot life back into an MSU football program after several weeks of struggle.
