For three-star wide receiver Monterio Hunt, playing football at Mississippi State is a family tradition and he is the next in line.
“First and foremost, it was my first offer when I was a sophomore in high school,” Hunt told GN. “Every time I went down there, they showed me a lot of love and showed me that they wanted me. I had family members that went there.”
Hunt’s grandfather, Larry Gilliard, was a Mississippi State offensive lineman from 1974-77; Hunt’s uncle, Michael Haddix, was a Bulldogs running back from 1979-82. Both played in the NFL.
