If Mississippi State is going to turn its season around by defeating Kentucky, the Bulldogs may have to do it without a few regulars.
Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen said Monday that three starters – right guard Deion Calhoun, running back Brandon Holloway and safety Kivon Coman – were battling injuries that could hold them out of Saturday’s game against Kentucky.
Mullen said all three players were questionable but noted that he wasn’t confident in any of them playing against the Wildcats.
Calhoun, a redshirt sophomore, has a sprained ankle and would be missing his first start of the season if he doesn’t play.
