Ole Miss led 31-7 early in the second quarter last Saturday. Any other season, the Rebels would have cruised to victory. In 2017, though, to no one’s surprise, the Hogs rallied and beat Ole Miss 38-37.
With the loss, any chance of interim coach Matt Luke becoming the team’s permanent coach ended.
For Ole Miss fans, this forgettable season has been defined by outside distractions largely centered on an NCAA investigation that dates to 2007. It’s been a disaster, frankly.
The good news? The waiting is almost over. Ole Miss is waiting to hear its fate from the NCAA’s Committee on Infractions and that decision could come any day.
