Wofford vs. Ole Miss: Rebs win 38-13, which is fine

That’ll do.

There was nothing particularly exciting about Ole Miss’ 38-13 win over Wofford on Saturday. Chad Kelly threw for 219 yards and three touchdowns (and no picks!) and the offense scored on six of their nine possessions, but we didn’t see anything like the 70-point explosions that marked the the early cupcake wins of 2015. The defense bent a decent bit against Wofford’s triple-option offense (allowing four drives of at least seven plays) but only allowed one touchdown.

As a whole, the opening game in the newly renovated Vaught-Hemingway Stadium was largely meh. But for a game sandwiched between top-five opponents, meh is to be expected.
