Hugh Freeze and his staff began shocking people in the 2012 recruiting cycle, when Ole Miss signed five-star defensive end Channing Ward (who never lived up to the hype). Freeze and his staff then really shocked people in 2013 by signing the consensus No. 8 class nationally; that group featured four five-star prospects. That class included the No. 1 recruit in the nation (defensive lineman Robert Nkemdiche), the No. 1 wide receiver (Laquon Treadwell) and the No. 1 offensive tackle (Laremy Tunsil).
Immediately came speculation that Ole Miss was cheating. After all, why would Tunsil make a last-minute decision to sign with Ole Miss over Georgia?
