For the first time since 2004, the Ole Miss Rebels are playing from behind at home in an NCAA Regional.
Ole Miss, the No. 1 seed in the Oxford Regional, was defeated by No. 4 seed Utah 6-5 in 10 innings Friday night. The last time the Rebels lost an NCAA opener in a regional was in 2004 to Western Kentucky.
The Rebels will now have to defeat Tulane Saturday afternoon in order to stay alive at Oxford-University Stadium. Utah, which will play Boston College in the winner’s bracket game, rallied from a 5-2 deficit to defeat the Rebels.
