BATON ROUGE, La. – Understandably, the proverbial panic button has gotten a thorough workout among LSU fans the past few days. It’s likely that there also has been a spike in the use of whatever form of, uh, tranquilizing material that Tigers fans choose to lean on.

In rapid order, backup end/outside linebacker Isaiah Washington, grizzled line veteran Christian LaCouture and fifth-year senior Corey Thompson, a safety-turned-linebacker, all went down. The news seems worse on Washington and LaCouture – ligament tears in their knees.
