Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze has confirmed that offensive lineman Laremy Tunsil has turned himself in and has been arrested on a charge of misdemeanor domestic violence-simple assault.
ESPN cited a source in reporting that Tunsil, a 6-foot-5, 305-pound junior from Lake City, Fla., last Thursday allegedly struck his stepfather
“We can confirm that Laremy Tunsil turned himself in and was arrested for a misdemeanor, domestic violence-simple assault,” Freeze said in a statement. “The incident occurred Thursday night and involves Laremy defending his mother against his stepfather. Laremy realizes he could have handled it differently, but I am proud of him for standing up for his mother and protecting his family.
