Tough first month means urgency for Ole Miss during fall camp

OXFORD, Miss. – As Nathan Noble lined up for the kickoff drill for the second practice of the season Tuesday, the speakers blared “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC. The music was notification that it is time for football.

“It’s good to be back in camp,” coach Hugh Freeze told reporters on Ole Miss’ media day. “… I like the look of our team. Obviously haven’t put pads on yet, but they seem to have a great spirit about them and want to compete.”

The Rebels won’t be in pads until Thursday, but even pads-less practices are important.

“I really believe that one of the differences in this conference between winning close games and losing them, besides breaks that sometimes happen, is the chemistry that’s formed in that locker room,” Freeze said.
