Memphis, Tenn.-
Memphis solidified themselves as a dark-horse contender for the College Football Playoff race by handling an SEC opponent. The Rebels proved themselves as pretenders, with inconsistent play on defense and injuries started to add up on both sides of the ball.
Both offenses moved the ball down the field with ease as the Rebels totaled 480 yards of offense and Memphis reaching 491 yards. Both offenses were headlined by the quarterbacks. Chad Kelly finished the day with 33-47 passing for 372 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
Memphis quarterback Paxton Lynch proved to be a potential first-round pick after his 384 yards and three touchdown performance.
