Ole Miss dropped a weekend SEC series to South Carolina on Saturday, losing the second of a three game tilt, 11-6, after a Friday night shellacking, 13-5. South Carolina is recently ascendant in SEC play, and if Cocky continues on its current course, they just might play their way into the college baseball tournament this year.
On Sunday, however, Ole Miss showed up for work and pulled off a 6-5 win to avoid a series sweep. Parker Caracci and the Rebel staff held the Gamecocks to single-digit runs for the first time all weekend, and the Ole Miss bats backed up the Ole Miss arms.
