Just a few thoughts. There’s been a lot of talk around Lexington about the improvement of Kentucky football. It may play out that way. I think La.-Lafayette is a quality low-level FBS opening opponent but not one that an SEC program on the rise should have had such struggle with especially after leading 24-7 at halftime. The Cajuns gained almost 500 yards in spite of four turnovers and were tied with less than a minute left before Kentucky scored and won 40-33.
