The preseason excitement of having the Ole Miss Rebels ranked in the top 25 was tempered after an early season loss to Florida State. The entire SEC was shaken when LSU lost their season opener. However, the conference as a whole has rebounded.
Ole Miss appears to still have the respect of the college football world. At a record of 3-2, Ole Miss is still considered one of the best teams in the nation. The Rebels two loses came to two teams who were at the time ranked in the AP top 5.
As in most seasons, the SEC has tremendous representation in the top 25.
