Add one more chapter to the red-hot tension between Ole Miss and Mississippi State: ESPN reports that Ole Miss officials want to require two Mississippi State players to attend the Rebels’ NCAA hearing.
The two players, linebacker Leo Lewis and defensive lineman Kobe Jones, were recruited by Ole Miss but ultimately signed with Mississippi State; both were interviewed by NCAA investigators. Lewis reportedly has accused an Ole Miss booster of offering thousands of dollars to sign with the Rebels.
Ole Miss has been accused of 21 violations in the NCAA’s notice of allegations. The hearing before the NCAA infractions committee is expected to occur in August or September.
