Report: Ole Miss RB Jordan Wilkins expected to return soon after knee injury

Ole Miss running back Jordan Wilkins is expected to return to practice soon after suffering a minor knee sprain, the Ole Miss Spirit reported Tuesday.

According to the report, Wilkins’ injury is not considered serious.

Wilkins sustained the injury during Monday’s practice. Afterward, Rebels coach Matt Luke said he was unsure of the severity.

Wilkins was ruled ineligible last August for academic reasons and missed the entire 2016 season. He is now a fifth-year senior, who is expected to start this fall.

Wilkins rushed for 379 yards and four touchdowns as a sophomore in 2015; he ran for 361 yards and one touchdown as a redshirt freshman in 2014.
