Freshman guard JT Escobar is leaving the basketball program, Scout.com’s Evan Daniels is reporting.
He has been given his release to transfer.
Escobar was considered an option at point guard early in the season. Eventually he appeared in 17 games and averaged 4.8 minutes.
Escobar signed with Ole Miss in the 2014-2015 class then attended prep school for a year. He was a Parade All-American at Florida A&M University High School in Tallahassee.
