Ranking SEC tight ends

The web site devoted to SEC sports calls Ole Miss’ Evan Engram the best “receiving” tight end in the conference, maybe the nation, but the second-best overall tight end in the league behind Arkansas’ Hunter Henry.

The difference is blocking.

Henry has good hands but also helped the Hogs produce two thousand-yard rushers.

Truthfully, both tight ends have thrived in the different ways in which their coaches have used them.

Henry had 37 catches for 513 yards and two touchdowns last year. He averaged 39.5 receiving yards per game.

Engram’s primary task has been to use his athleticism to create mismatches in the passing game.
