Cullen Neal, who announced he was leaving New Mexico after allegedly receiving death threats, told ESPN on Wednesday that he will indeed transfer to Ole Miss. The guard, who is entering his junior season, has already graduated from New Mexico so will be immediately eligible to play in Oxford.
Neal averaged 12 points in just over 30 minutes per game as a sophomore, but his shooting percentages (35 percentage) and high number of turnovers (3.3 per game) were apparently too much for some Lobos fans to take. Neal's father Craig Neal, who is the Lobos head coach, spoke of his son's death threats to local media.
