In a seesaw affair in which both teams struggled to get into a flow early, the Rebels staged a furious late-game comeback Monday night in Oxford to grind out a 90-88 victory over UMass. This is the second year in a row — and second time ever — that the teams have met, and Ole Miss has won both times.
With 3:30 remaining, the Minutemen led by 88-79 and appeared set to cruise down the stretch. Sebastian Saiz and the Rebs weren’t having any of that, however, finishing the game on an 11-0 run punctuated by this last-second tip-in:
That’s Friday night’s hero Deandre Burnett, who had remained quiet for much of the game, winding down the right side of the lane as Saiz finds himself in a pick-and-roll mismatch for the easy put-back.
