South Carolina meets Ole Miss in Oxford on Saturday for the first time since 2009, when these two clubs got together. That game ended in a 16-10 Carolina win. Ole Miss would go on to finish the year 9-4, after beginning the season ranked No. 8 and climbing as high as No. 4. The Rebs won the Cotton Bowl that year, 21-7, over a decent Texas Tech team and finished the year ranked No. 20 in the AP Top 25.
The following year, the team would finish 4-8 and miss a bowl game (not self-imposed, mind), and the year after that the the Heppin’ Rebs would finish 2-10 without a conference win.
