Still, Rebels coach Hugh Freeze is encouraged that he is expected back this fall and noted to reporters Thursday that that Conner is set to do some “straight line” running soon.
“We’ll see how the knee responds when he does,” said Freeze, whose team opened spring practice Wednesday. “We’re hopeful that he’ll have a full recovery and be ready to go in the fall. We really need him.”
Conner was hurt in the Game Three win over Alabama, then missed the next six games. He came back November 7 against Arkansas and also played against LSU on November 21 before missing the final two games.
