Ole Miss took another step toward the Sugar Bowl this evening with the release of the College Football Playoff rankings.
The Sugar Bowl will select the SEC championship game winner if it does not qualify for the playoff.
If the winner does qualify, as Alabama, No. 2 in this week’s rankings would, the Sugar Bowl will select the SEC team team highest rated by the committee that is not in the playoff.
