Ole Miss sophomore safety Deontay Anderson, who is sitting out this season, reportedly has filed paperwork that will enable him to transfer.
USA Today reported that Anderson says the school misled him about its NCAA problems during his recruitment, and he has retained an attorney, Tom Mars, of the Arkansas-based Eldredge and Clark law firm. Mars also represented former Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt in his lawsuit against the school earlier this year.
USA Today report that Mars says Anderson was recruited to Ole Miss under false pretenses and that then-coach Hugh Freeze and athletic director Ross Bjork misrepresented the status of the school’s NCAA problems.
