Ole Miss receives bowl-game invite despite LSU loss

Though the Rebels rallied back from a 16-point deficit, LSU secured the 53-48 win over the Rebels after the team failed to overcome six turnovers and a fumble in the last minute of the game.

The Tigers had the lead after LSU’s Max Johnson found wide receiver Kayshon Boutte for a 45-yard touchdown, leaving the Rebels with just over a minute left to find the end zone again. However, a fumble recovery from the Tigers left quarterback Matt Corral and the Rebels with a heartbreaking loss.

“It’s really a shame because we had them, and we’re not going to get many opportunities like that,” head coach Lane Kiffin said in the post-game presser.
