Ole Miss, picked fifth in the West by SEC media yesterday, placed six players on the media’s preseason All-SEC team announced this morning.
Ironically, three of the Rebels’ four first-team selections were on offense, not defense, which is considered to be the stronger side of the ball for Ole Miss.
Wide receiver Laquon Treadwell, offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil and tight end Evan Engram made the first team.
Treadwell was the leading vote-getter among wide receivers with 169. Tunsil was the second-leading vote-getter among five offensive linemen with 159.
Defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche made the first team and was the SEC’s second-leading defensive vote-getter with 173.
