Mageo (6 feet 2, 233 pounds), a native of American Samoa, should help at a depth-shy position. He had 87 tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles and two interceptions as junior last season.

Mageo will graduate this semester and arrive in Oxford over the summer. At the least, he should be a key backup for the Rebels.

Alabama received help from an Oregon State grad transfer last season; wide receiver Richard Mullaney was the Tide’s third-leading receiver.
