Ole Miss has plenty of athletes in Rio for the Olympic games this year, and one of them is going for gold tonight. Raven Saunders, the Ole Miss junior, will compete in the shot-put competition tonight for the United States.

Saunders qualified for the finals yesterday with a throw of 61-feet, 9.5 inches. Her throw was fourth best in the qualifiers.

Saunders is only 20 years old, a young competitor in the Olympic shot-put.

Saunders is trying to become the first Ole Miss Olympian to win a medal in this year’s games. She is one of nine Rebels in Rio.
