Well, it’s finally over. The punishment from the NCAA has finally been handed down from Indianapolis. SB Nation’s senior reporter Steven Godfrey is reporting that Ole Miss will be hit with a second bowl ban for 2018, even more scholarship restrictions, and show causes for every coach involved in the notice of allegations.
Its about as hard a blow as could be imagined.
In mid-September, Ole Miss went in front of the NCAA Committee On Infractions in Covington, Kentucky to meet with members to discuss their wrongdoings over the past few years. Since then, Ross Bjork and Ole Miss officials have expected the NCAA to decide the outcome of its five-year-long probe into athlete benefits, rental cars, couch sleepovers, and ACT forging, but alas, they surpassed their 6-to-8 week deadline and took this all the way into December.
