Ole Miss basketball announced Tuesday head coach Kermit Davis tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday.
The head coach was able to retest on Tuesday, and is hoping to have different results. The Rebels open up its season on November 25 with the Justin Reed Classic Tournament in Oxford. If his results stand, Davis, 60, will miss the first two games of the season.
It was not specified whether there were other positive cases within the program.
The contract tracing process will also involve those in close contact with coach Davis. With the opening game less than two weeks away, this could mean several players will be missing practice and possibly games.
