This past weekend some Ole Miss football fans were watching as four former Rebels made their AAF debuts with the Memphis Express. Former Rebels linebacker DeMarquis Gates was one of those players and started at LB for the Express in their loss to Birmingham Sunday in the season opener.
Those of us who watched the game may have been surprised by the outcome but none were surprised by the performance of Gates. Coached by NFL legend linebacker Mike Singletary the Express came up short but it wasn’t because of Gates who had a very impressive season opener.
