The former home of Ole Miss men’s and women’s basketball, which helped the Rebels win three SEC championships, will be torn down by the end of next summer.
On Nov. 5, the University of Mississippi announced that it will demolish C. M. Tad Smith Coliseum, commonly known as the “Tad Pad,” in the summer of 2026. The site will be used as extra parking for students due to the University’s population growth over the past few years.
Christina Sparks, an Ole Miss alumna and current associate professor of integrated marketing communication, says that while the Tad Pad may be leaving, the memories she made there are not.
