Ole Miss falls again: Chad Kelly was great, the run defense (ahem) was not

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss’ season continued to trend in a negative direction Saturday night. The Rebels held a lead after three quarters, but Auburn pulled away in the fourth in a 40-29 win. Ole Miss dropped to 3-5 this season, including 1-4 in SEC play.

Here are four takeaways from the Rebels’ loss.

Ole Miss just cannot stop the run.

Auburn ran all over Ole Miss, and the linebacker play that was non-existent the past two weeks against Arkansas and LSU continued to be a problem. The Tigers rushed for 307 yards, and it’s as if the coaching staff didn’t make any adjustments during the week or at halftime.
