OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss may have dodged a bullet along its defensive line Sunday.
Sophomore defensive tackle Benito Jones, a Freshman All-American in 2016, has no spinal damage stemming from a collision in Saturday’s scrimmage.
Jones, who did not lose feeling in his extremities on the field, was admitted to the local hospital as a precautionary measure Saturday and was held overnight for observation.
X-rays and other tests showed no damage, an Ole Miss spokesman said. Jones was released Sunday morning. As the Rebels begin their third week of camp Monday, his playing status is listed as “day to day.
