Ole Miss diamond Rebels win with freshman frenzy

It was freshman day for Ole Miss on the mound as the Rebels trotted out four freshman pitchers in their 8-2 victory over Tennessee-Martin.

Ole Miss started freshman James McArthur on the bump. McArthur surrendered a first inning two-run home run, but battled back and gave the Rebels a solid five-inning performance without allowing another run.

“He’s growing each week and getting better and better,” head baseball coach Mike Bianco said of McArthur. “He’s going to be so good.”
The freshman trend would continue as Connor Green, Dallas Woolfolk and Andrew Lowe pitched four scoreless frames to seal the Rebels 8-2 victory.
