Ole Miss deputy athletic director Stephen Ponder has stepped down for personal reasons.

Ole Miss athletic director Ross Bjork told the Oxford Eagle that Ponder’s decision had nothing to do with the ongoing NCAA investigation into the Ole Miss football program.

Ponder had been at Ole Miss since June 2012. Before that, he had spent five years at Arizona State, where he was the senior associate A.D. for external relations.
