Ole Miss linebacker C.J. Johnson had surgery earlier today on a torn meniscus.
He is expected to miss four to six weeks, the same time frame given for junior Huskie Tony Conner who had surgery for the same injury following the Alabama game.
Johnson becomes the third key defensive player — nose tackle Issac Gross was the first — to lose games because of an injury this season.
The school announced on Sept. 8 that Gross would have season-ending neck surgery.
A senior from Philadelphia, Johnson moved from end to middle linebacker this season. He has 17 tackles and two interceptions through five games.
