Coach Kermit Davis and Ole Miss basketball (15-7, 5-4) were trying to get back on the winning track Wednesday night as they hosted the Texas A&M Aggies (8-13, 1-8) in Oxford. The Rebels were coming off a 81-75 loss to Miss State while the Aggies were coming off their own SEC loss to No.1 Tennessee.
In a game where the Rebels were trying to break a four-game losing streak Ole Miss took a narrow 37-36 lead into the locker room at the break. In the second half the Rebels relied on tenacious defense and the free-throw line to out-score the Aggies 38-35 and were able to pick up the 75-71 win.
