After an opening weekend sweep of Big South favorite Winthrop, Ole Miss disposed of Memphis on Tuesday to improve to 4-0. The pitching was as advertised over the weekend and the bats looked much better. There were some newcomers who stepped up and looked like veterans and there were the known commodities who did their thing as well, on the mound and at the dish.
This weekend, the competition is not as fierce, but there is something else at play here. The Green Wave last visited The Sway in 2016 for postseason play. The Rebs hosted after a 43-win campaign but went two and ‘que at the hands of the fellas from New Orleans.
