Coach Mike Bianco and No.20 Ole Miss baseball (16-7, 2-2) were travelling for the first SEC road series of the 2019 season. The Rebels were set to face the Missouri Tigers (14-8) coming off a 25-0 midweek blowout of UAPB. Bianco and the Rebels found the going tough with cold bats and fell 2-1 in Columbia.
Missouri got on the board first with 1 run in the bottom of the first and took the 1-0 lead thru the fourth inning. Ole Miss tied the game with a run in the top of the fifth but the Tigers answered with 1 run in the bottom of the frame to take the 2-1 lead and ultimately the series opening win over the Rebels.
