After two consecutive losses to the South Carolina Gamecocks, Ole Miss baseball was in a dogfight to avoid the series sweep. It took four home-runs and shutdown pitching to get the Sunday win and head back home with a small degree of momentum.
The Rebels got on the board first with 2 runs in the top of the 2nd inning. South Carolina answered in the bottom of the 3rd to tie the game at 2-2. With the game still tied 2-2 going into the 5th the Rebels added 1 run in the top but the Gamecocks responded with 1 run in the bottom of the frame to keep the game tied at 3-3.
