Ole Miss baseball (18-2, 1-1) dropped game-one to Tennessee (13-7, 1-1) on a very peculiar night for baseball and needed to bounce back Saturday. Coaches, players and fans from both sides knew it was strange game which led to the Vols 8-6 win. Friday night’s game was a fluke loss for the Rebels, but sometimes it happens in baseball. Saturday’s game proved to be much better for the Rebels.
After a scoreless first inning the Rebels did get on the board first in the bottom of the 2nd with two runs. The Rebels took a 2-0 lead into the bottom of the 3rd where they added 1 run to make the lead 3-0.
