No.4 Ole Miss baseball entered the weekend series with No.15 Vanderbilt coming off and impressive midweek win over No.12 Southern Miss. After losing the series with Miss State last weekend the Rebels needed to make a huge statement in this weekend series. Vanderbilt was entering the series coming off a 3-2 midweek win over Western Kentucky.
The Rebels wasted no time and got on the board first with 1 run in the top of the 1st. The Dores responded with 2 runs in the bottom of the frame and led 2-1 after the 1st.
