The new coordinators are formally in place at Ole Miss for 2017. But the changes on the sideline aren’t quite finished yet.
The Rebels formally introduced Phil Longo as offensive coordinator and Wesley McGriff as defensive coordinator in a news conference Friday. Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze said he “felt some changes needed to be made.”
Longo had been offensive coordinator at Sam Houston State, where he directed a prolific aerial attack. This will be his first job at the FBS level.
“Phil has been on my radar for a long time, and it was clear that he is the man that can take our offense from good to great,” Freeze said.
