OXFORD, Miss. – As coaches rely on their evaluations in recruiting, so do junior college players.
When National Signing Day comes, they have to get it right. The clock is ticking, and their time is halfway gone. Most are looking for places to play immediately and may not be inclined to sign on with a team that has an established underclassman starter.
Then there’s junior college quarterback Jordan Ta’amu.
Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze landed Ta’amu in December and added three-star high school prospect Alex Faniel on NSD.
The most surprised person around the Ole Miss program on NSD may have been Shea Patterson.
