Mother knows best: Ole Miss’ best recruiter might not even be a coach

Ole Miss has had numerous high-level recruiters in its coaching offices in the past few years. This year, the top Rebels recruiter may not even be on campus.

Earlier this week, four-star athlete Diwun Black decommitted from Mississippi State. He is one of the top-three recruits in Mississippi in this recruiting cycle, which is an especially deep one for the state.

Enter Jordan Jernigan’s mom, Tamiko Douglas.

Jernigan, a three-star wide receiver from Tupelo (Miss.) High, committed to Ole Miss in October. More important for the Rebels, Douglas is on board as well. She reached out to Black on Twitter upon hearing about his decommitment, and Black retweeted her message.
